How is Applying Different
Kairos assists with students who have become disengaged or are at risk
of disengaging from mainstream schooling. This can be due to a variety of reasons,
however if your young person has the desire to finish Year 12,
follow the simple process below to begin your conversation about enrolling at Kairos.
Kairos opens doors to education
There are no compulsory fees or levies, no compulsory school uniforms, and we run school buses to support attendance.
Throughout my life, I have been to eighteen different schools. I failed most of my subjects. I was bullied, humiliated, and put to shame. I have been suspended plenty of times for different things and moved around to different towns and states.
In 2022 I was seeing a psychologist who told me about Kairos. She said it would be a positive environment with people that cared and would support me to move forward. When I first started at Kairos, I was nervous and afraid. It was scary for me because I felt alone. The first day I started I was afraid to talk to anyone because it was out of my comfort zone, and I had no idea what was next. But as I kept pushing myself to come to school, I became more connected, happy, focused, and started making friendships that I never had before.
Over my time at Kairos, I accomplished many things. In Year 11, I completed a Cert II in Hospitality, and I started a traineeship and Cert III in Sport and Recreation and have finished that. I had outstanding grades, and now I’m working at a pool as a lifeguard and swim teacher. Kairos also helped me get my Learners licence.
At Kairos I have overcome the struggles I have faced by being around positive people who made me feel happy and safe.
