Our Programs

Kairios Community College Deception Bay provides holistic education through targeted support and small class sizes, with teacher aides in every classroom. Students can access a Certificate II in Active Volunteering and receive support to enrol in TAFE or University Headstart courses alongside their school studies.

Our Youth Workers assist in emotional regulation, life skills, relationships, mental health and gym programs. At the heart of Kairos Deception Bay is safety and relationships, a place where young people feel seen, valued and cared for.

Kairos Deception Bay offers daily transportation with two buses, and dedicated Youth Workers who are well-connected to local support services. This ensures students and their families receive the practical assistance they need.

Last Friday, our school proudly joined the Moreton Bay Says No 2 Violence Walk, standing together to promote respect, kindness, and a future free from violence. It was a wonderful opportunity for our students and staff to come together with other community members, showing their support and commitment to positive change. The walk was filled with energy, unity, and an important shared message, that Moreton Bay says no to violence! We are so proud of our students for representing our school with enthusiasm and respect throughout the day. Events like these help build strong, compassionate young people who understand the power of standing up for what is right.💜 Thank you to the organisers and everyone involved in making this meaningful event possible.#mbsn2v #Respect #community #OurSchoolPride See MoreSee Less

National Sorry Day 26 May, From Sorry to Action. The theme for this year’s National Sorry Day is From Sorry to Action. The call is clear, we must move from words to action, and this needs to happen now, not in another decade.Acknowledging past harm is important, but acting to address it is critical. Sorry signals compassion, action delivers justice. We encourage you to mark National Sorry Day on 26 May, and to stand with us to ensure this day is part of an ongoing commitment to truth-telling and healing. Volunteering Australia's National Volunteer Week wrapped up today, running from 18 May to 24 May 2026. To mark the occasion, we are celebrating the incredible achievements of our Year 10 students at the Deception Bay campus throughout 2025. Before finding their place at Kairos, many of these young people faced significant challenges and were at risk of disengaging from their education. Traditional schooling models do not always serve every learner, which is why our curriculum is intentionally designed to re-ignite a sense of purpose through the delivery of the Certificate II in Active Volunteering. We deliver this practical qualification because shifting the focus from personal challenges to helping others can be transformative. By serving the community, our students realise they have valuable strengths and kindness to offer the world, while simultaneously developing essential, transferable employability skills like communication, teamwork, and problem-solving. Crucially, active volunteering bridges the gap between our young people and the local region, breaking down social isolation and fostering deep mutual respect.Have a look through the slides to see the incredible impact of our Deception Bay students during 2025, from dedicating 61 hours to supporting our local Salvos to connecting with 13 deserving local organisations and businesses. We are incredibly proud of our students. They are proof that with the right support, an inclusive environment, and a chance to give back, young people can completely rewrite their stories. Thank you to all the local organisations that partnered with us to mentor, welcome, and champion our students! See MoreSee Less
