Caloundra Campus Recognised in 2026 Australia Day Awards

Kairos Community College is proud to share that our Caloundra Campus was nominated in the 2026 Sunshine Coast Council Australia Day Community Awards, in the Community Group or Organisation category.

Being nominated alongside so many dedicated community organisations was an honour and a meaningful acknowledgement of the work taking place at Caloundra in partnership with young people, families and the broader community.

We extend our congratulations to Dr Leon Stensholm and the Lookout07 team, who were announced as winners of the category. Lookout07 continues to do outstanding work in supporting young people across the region, and we commend their commitment, impact and leadership within the Sunshine Coast community.

The awards ceremony was attended on behalf of the Caloundra Campus by Executive Principal Tony Andrews, Acting Head of Campus Nigel Riseley, and Senior Youth Worker Dana Fink. The team was proud to stand alongside representatives from a diverse range of inspiring organisations, all working to create positive change in their communities.

Opportunities like this highlight the strength of collaboration across the Sunshine Coast and the shared commitment to supporting young people to thrive. We are grateful to Sunshine Coast Council for recognising the important role community organisations play and for celebrating those making a difference at a grassroots level.

Congratulations again to all nominees and award recipients, and thank you to everyone who continues to support the work of Kairos Community College at Caloundra.
