Our Programs

Kairos Deception Bay balances holistically supporting young people through their education by providing targeted support, small class sizes, teacher aides in every class, access to Certificate II in Hospitality and Certificate II in Active Volunteering, support to enrol in TAFE and University Headstart courses alongside their schooling. Our Youth Workers assist in emotional regulation, life skills, relationships, mental health and gym programs. At the heart of Kairos Deception Bay is safety and relationships, a place where young people feel seen, valued and cared for.

Kairos Deception Bay offers daily transportation with two buses, and dedicated Youth Workers who are well-connected to local support services. This ensures students and their families receive the practical assistance they need.

Our final tribe lunch of the year was a special one as we farewelled teacher Mikey and teacher aide Zion. Both are finishing up at Deception Bay at the end of this year, with Zion pursuing personal goals and Mikey preparing to move to our Caloundra campus in 2026. To celebrate their last tribe lunch, staff and students joined in the fun by dressing up as either Mikey or Zion, creating plenty of laughter and heartfelt moments. It was a fitting tribute to two much-loved members of our Kairos community, recognising the impact they’ve had on our young people and the joy they’ve brought to our tribe. See MoreSee Less

Big changes for families: Social Media Age Restrictions are now in effect! As of 10 December 2025, major social media platforms , including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, YouTube, X and others, are required to take reasonable steps to prevent Australians under 16 years of age from creating accounts. This world-first legislation aims to make platforms more accountable for the safety of children online.• Under-16s can still view publicly available content without logging in.• Most gaming and messaging apps, as well as health and education services, are not affected.• There are no penalties for children or parents – the responsibility lies with the platforms, which face fines of up to $49.5 million for non-compliance.At Kairos, we believe every child deserves a safe and positive online experience, and we’re committed to supporting families through this transition. We also encourage parents to revisit our mobile phone policy and the research behind it, including insights from The Anxious Generation, which highlights the impact of smartphones on wellbeing. For more information and resources, please see the links in the comments below:• eSafety Commissioner’s Social Media Age Restrictions Hub• Queensland Independent Schools Parents Network Webinar (What the Social Media Ban Means for Your Family)Together, we can create safer digital spaces for our young people.
