R U OK? Day Brings Heartfelt Connections to Deception Bay

Over the past two days, our Deception Bay campus has been buzzing with warmth and community spirit as the Kairos tribe came together to celebrate R U OK? Day.

Yesterday, we launched our very first Bring a Friend to Lunch Day, inviting students to welcome a friend or family member to share a meal and connect. The response was wonderful—12 special guests joined us, enjoying delicious burgers and hot chips prepared and served by our talented Year 10 students. The laughter, conversation, and genuine connection around the tables set the tone for a memorable afternoon.

Today, the celebration continued with a sweet spread of cupcakes, ice cream biscuits, apple crumble, and cheerful yellow punch, lovingly created by our staff and students. This simple yet meaningful treat embodied the heart of R U OK? Day: checking in, sharing, and supporting one another.

A heartfelt thank-you goes out to every visitor, student, and staff member who made these events possible. Your creativity, kindness, and commitment to community are what make Kairos Deception Bay such a special place to belong.
