Spreading Hope and Building Community This Christmas

At Kairos, we believe education is about more than academics, it’s about shaping compassionate, community-minded individuals. That’s why volunteering is central to our culture, with all Year 10 students completing a Certificate II in Active Volunteering as part of their learning journey.

Last week, our Executive Principal Tony Andrews and State Principal Luke O’Sullivan had the privilege of supporting The Shack Community Centre’s Trees of Hope appeal. This initiative provides groceries, gifts, and care packages to families who need a helping hand during the festive season.

Our partnership with The Shack is something we treasure. For over four years, their incredible volunteers have mentored dozens of students at our Caloundra campus, guiding and inspiring them to grow in confidence and character. This collaboration reflects the heart of both organisations… building stronger communities through care and connection.

Tony and Luke joined the effort by shopping for essential items and helping sort groceries. It’s a small act, but one that reminds us why community support matters, especially at this time of year.

If you’d like to get involved, here’s how you can help:
✅ Donate grocery items
✅ Volunteer your time
✅ Contribute financially

Every act of generosity makes a difference. Learn more about Trees of Hope and how you can help: https://www.theshackcommunitycentre.com.au/trees-of-hope

At Kairos, we’re proud to stand alongside The Shack and proud of our students who embrace volunteering as part of their education. Together, we can create a ripple effect of kindness and hope this Christmas.
